By being aware of your Sun sign and your chart, you’ll
be much more aware of what makes you tick. Synchronicity is
the idea that everything in the Universe is interconnected,
a pattern of meaningful coincidences, or as Jung said, ‘everything
that is born or occurs at a particular time has the energies
of that time.’ Carl Jung also said “we are
born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage
years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and of the
season in which we are born”.
Children born during the September 11 2001 terrorist attacks
in New York City will have a strong survival instinct –
all born under the sign of Virgo, with Moon in Gemini, Mercury
in Libra, Venus in Leo and Mars in Capricorn, they are blessed
with a fabulous chart. They will be able to deal with the
fact that they came into the world at such a dangerous and
precarious time and have a strong bond with making planet
Earth a much safer place when they are old enough. Don’t
be surprised if a future President of the US is someone born
on or around September 11, 2001.
T.S. Eliot’s epic poem The
Waste Land is filled with astrological references while Nancy
Reagan used astrology to make vital White House
decisions. Particularly after the assassination attempt on
her husband’s life, she used astrologers to advise her
on the best and worst times for Reagan to travel, sign bills
and travel to foreign countries. Princess Diana
was another famous woman to trust astrologers to plot her
course in life – advising the sensitive and emotionally
fragile Cancer when to leave Prince Charles
(Scorpio) and when to go public with her version of the betrayal
which had taken place. Interestingly enough, Camilla
Parker Bowles (the other woman) is also a Cancer.
However, Princess Diana had Sagittarius rising, which made
her much more publicly chatty, happy and a real people person.
Remember what we discussed earlier about rising signs? What
a great example of how astrology can help us to evolve and
grow as humans, making the most of the material we were born
with. While we know that Diana was born July 1st, 1961 at
7.45 p.m. in Sandringham, England, under the sign of Cancer
which implies staying close to home, motherhood and being
Suzy homemaker (of which Diana was), her Sagittarius rising
allowed her to arguably become the most poised, confident
and loved person in the entire world. Prince William, her son and heir
to the throne is also a Cancer, with Sagittarius rising and
like Diana, has Uranus, Mars and Pluto all in his eighth house
of transformation. Prince William will make a wonderful King,
blessed with his mother’s sensitivity and quest for
knowledge as well as making a difference in the world. He
will be the ‘greenest’ King ever – making
sure England is up to speed with recycling and globalization
issues. As we have already seen, he is following in his mother’s
footsteps with the land mine issues, travelling to Africa
and working to make the world a better place. Rest assured,
Diana is still with us through her son William.
Astrology is our cosmic DNA – allowing
us to find out our strengths and weaknesses. By knowing ourselves
astrologically, we can determine whether we should concentrate
on being an athlete, politician, writer lawyer or actor. For
example, I am an Aries, with Gemini rising and Gemini Moon.
As a writer, I am doing what the Universe wants me to do –
communicating and getting my ideas out there. I would not
be suited to working with numbers or behind the scenes. I
need to be outwardly rewarded for my work – which being
on TV, MIX 101.1 Melbourne radio and in NW magazine assures
me. Candace Bushnell, the New York
writer who wrote Sex and the City is a Sagittarius
– ruled by Jupiter, the planet of think big. She sure
did! Bill Clinton, arguably one of the most successful and
controversial US Presidents is a Leo – the sign of leadership,
magnetism and celebrity status. His wife Hillary is a Scorpio
– tough, resilient and intensely private. Perfect lawyer
and future US President material or what?
Astrology is a useful guide to buying real estate, stocks
or getting married (none of which should be done when Venus
or Mercury are out of phase!). Astrology definitely assists
in matters of love and lust. Most Hollywood couples who stay
together are astrologically compatible – at least their
Sun signs are. Goldie Hawn (Scorpio)
and Kurt Russell (Pisces) are cosmic
soul mates – while Jennifer Aniston
(Aquarius) and Brad Pitt (Sag) are
another great astro couples that work. When 2 Leos get together
it doesn’t work– like Madonna and
Sean Penn and Bennifer.
And when stars are mismatched (literally) like Aries Jennifer
Garner and Virgo Scott Foley,
it doesn’t take long before the Aries goes looking for
a more suitable mate. Which Jennifer has found in Sagittarius
co-star Michael Vartan.
All your relationships are based on astrology and the planets.
Because I am an Aries with Gemini rising, I find that I naturally
get along well with air signs – Geminis, Librans and
Aquarians. I also gravitate towards fire signs, due to my
Aries Sun. If I need a boost in self-esteem, I call my Leo
girlfriend (think Samantha/Kim Cattrall
in SATC) and gossip for a while, until I feel revitalized.
For a traveling partner, I love being with one or more adventurous
Sagittarians. However, I have difficulty getting along with
water and earth signs, as they are far more bogged down in
the details than I am. However, knowing this, I also make
sure my accountants and doctors are earth signs and anyone
I am involved with creatively is a water sign! That’s
using astrology!
You can use astrology for everything you do every
minute of the day. So why not find out more? Get
your chart done, have
a psychic reading
using your date of birth, read your horoscope and plan your
day/month/week? It’s an investment in you – and
that in itself is invaluable. Making the most of your strengths,
learning how to disguise your weaknesses and overcome your
personality quirks will only make you a happier, stronger
and more successful person. What are you waiting for?
