The Sun is in Aries in April – which always means trouble!
Not only are Aries ruled by fiery, quick to overboil Mars,
but Aries is the first sign out of the starting gate astro
wise, so there is always something more eager and extraverted
when it comes to people born under the sign of Aries.

as well as our singing celebs above – Diana Ross, Mariah
Carey, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion.
I think the reason why Aries are so involved in the music
industry is that it is such a creative outlet for them and
all of their energy. Plus, they like to express their opinions,
emotions and outrage at the world in general and what better
arena than singing on stage? Aretha Franklin, Norah
Jones and especially Mariah Carey have
poured their hearts out to us one many occasions – as has
legendary Marvin Gaye and Eric Clapton.
One more male Aries fact which is sure to rock your socks
is that the head of the United Nations, Kofi Annan
is an Aries! Like some of the ‘softer Aries’ he definitely
does not possess any of the swaggering macho Ram energy that
our men’s list shows. There are a few ‘soft’ Aries like Matthew
Broderick and Eric Clapton that don’t
necessarily get involved in bar fights and confrontations
with paparazzi and security – but they are in the minority!
My cosmic bet is that he is Libra rising, or has many planets
in Libra, Sagittarius and or Gemini – planetary placements
that would enable him to hear every side of the argument without
getting emotionally involved or invested.
Another interesting thing is that many Aries women are feminists
– Gloria Steinem, Erica Jong and Maya Angelou
have all written very pro feminine books and poetry over the
years. Lucy Lawless, Jennifer Garner, Kiera Knightley,
Melissa Joan Hart, & Sarah Michelle Gellar are
all strong female lead actresses who have been in action roles
where they were totally in control of their environment –
Lucy Lawless started a whole genre of strong women leads kicking
major butt on screen.
Emma Thompson, Claire Danes, Shannon Doherty, Ellen
Barkin, Reese Witherspoon, Keri Russell, Dianne Weist, Jennie
Garth and Maria Sharapova are all tough Aries women
who earn respect amongst their peers for their courage and
conviction in whatever they are doing. Kate Hudson
is another Aries woman who has a real sense of self – she
is young, very successful, happily married and seems to have
successfully survived the child star thing without any major
dramas. Growing up in Scorpio mum Goldie Hawn’s
shadow would not have been easy. But she did it and like Reese
Witherspoon and Jennie Garth, juggles motherhood
with her career with ease (or makes it look that way).
Filmmakers Quentin Tarantino and Francis
Coppola are both Aries – and both make gritty, violent
and stark films. Copola’s Godfather, which starred Aries Marlon
Brando and Andy Garcia, is one of the
most famous movies ever made. Spike Lee celebrates his birthday
March 20 – so while he is just a Pisces, is a real cusper
and I think more of an Aries with his energy and vitality
and sense of righteousness, with his emotional Pisces side
balancing him out.
So let’s see what’s in store for our Aries celebs during
their special time of year…
Planetary placements for April 2006
Full Moon in Libra – April 14 (time to end bad/toxic relationships)
- New Moon in Taurus – April 28 (check/finagle budgets,
savings and super accounts)
- Mercury, the communicator spends through the 17th in Pisces,
then moves into Aries
- Venus, the planet of love spends through the 6th in Aquarius,
then the rest of April in Pisces
- Motivating Mars hangs out in Gemini through April 14,
then moves into Cancer
- Saturn finally moves forward in Leo on April 4
- Jupiter remains out of phase in Scorpio
- Pluto remains out of phase in Sagittarius
The return to full speed ahead of Saturn is a major plus
for Aries, as it moves forward in Leo, Aries 5th house of
creativity, romance and self-fulfillment. So we will quite
likely see some sort of resolution in those Aries marriages
that the press has been harping on for too long now.
Aries Kevin Federline is married to pop star Britney
Spears (Sagittarius) and she is reportedly pregnant
with their second child. While this is an excellent match
when everyone is madly in love and wild sex is part and parcel
of everyday life, when it goes wrong, it goes horribly wrong.
Think of Aries Alec Baldwin and Sag wife Kim
Basinger and their nasty divorce that keeps on keeping
on…we could see a repeat of that if Kevin and Britney can’t
work out how to get along over the next few weeks and months.
Luckily for them, Saturn helps them work things out and decide
if they are staying together for the long haul. Plus with
a Full Moon in Libra April 14 (and the recent solar eclipse
in Aries March 28) – Kevin is the one who needs to decide
what he is going to do. If he can work through his own demons
and come back to loving Britney the way he did when they first
met and commit himself to working on the marriage, they have
hope.
Likewise with Reese Witherspoon and her Virgo
hubby Ryan Philippe. Not a great match, but
as you will see in my Star Couples feature on my website,
there is more to this match than their Sun signs. But the
stories keep coming up that things are not working out between
these two and we can only hope that Reese and Ryan work things
out. Once again, it’s the old story of the female becoming
the male in the relationship. Like Britney, Reese is far more
famous and wealthy than her partner and it is sure to grate
on Ryan and Kevin.
Victoria Adams and her Taurus hubby David
Beckham are another couple who are experiencing some
volatile times right now. Another tough match - Victoria is
an over achiever and a real operator, while hubby is sort
of happy to do nothing much at all – a steady as he goes type
plodder.
I think he prefers kicking a soccer ball around to putting
up with her and her demands – and things haven’t been great
between them for some time, despite them putting up a brave
face in public. Plus, Victoria’s family is firmly entrenched
in David’s life and this too puts a lot of pressure on him.
April is one month when Victoria will really feel empowered
and strong and it will be interesting to see if David can
stand the heat much longer, although he did publicly declare
in a magazine article that he and Victoria would never separate
or divorce, so maybe he will just plod along and plod it out?

The perfect balance really in a very unbalanced world. Aries
are hard people to please – they are quick to jump to anger
and are very hard on themselves and others. But like anyone
else, when they find true love, real love and someone who
will put up with them, they are much easier to deal with!
And with so much energy in and around Aries in April – the
Sun through the 21st, and Mercury in Aries from the 17th onwards
– plus the direct motion of Saturn and retrograde activity
of Pluto, the planet of extremes in Sagittarius, we will definitely
be hearing about Aries and their nocturnal activities over
the next few weeks.
