January 2005
As we bid adieu to 2004, Mercury retrograde and a bunch of
crazy Sagittarians, we welcome the New Year (which in numerological
terms adds up to 7 – which has to be lucky right?). And we
say happy birthday to Capricorns – earthly creatures ruled
by Saturn, the planet of focus and discipline.
Famous Capricorns include: Diane Sawyer, Vanessa Paradis,
Susan Lucci, Ricky Martin, Ryan Seacrest, Dido, Annie Lennox,
Sissy Spacek, Denzel Washington, Sienna Miller, Jude Law,
Tiger Woods, Val Kilmer, Taye Diggs, Christy Turlington, Kate
Bosworth, Mel Gibson, Nigella Lawson, Diane Keaton, Nicolas
Cage, David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Orlando Bloom, Amanda Peet,
Kate Moss, Sade, Jim Carrey, Kevin Costner, Samantha Mumba
& Kid Rock.
If you look at the Capricorn cast above, check out how many
strong and resilient women are born under the sign of the
goat! Annie Lennox, Sissey
Spacek, Diane Keaton,
Nigella Lawson…impressive stuff!
How the planets line up in January:
Mercury the planet of communication and rational thinking
remains in big mouth Sagittarius through January 10, the moves
into serious Capricorn for the remainder of the month.
Venus the goddess of love and relationships follows hot on
Mercury’s heels and the dates are pretty much the same.
Mars, the planet of passion remains in Sagittarius through
Feb 7.
We have a New Moon in hard working Capricorn late Monday
night, January 10.
A Full Moon in full on Leo occurs late on the 25th (8.32
pm)
Saturn, the planet of focus and discipline and Capricorn’s
ruler is out of phase in Cancer right through March 25.
In January, a lot of celebrities are on holidays, so let’s
hope for some happy snaps of renegade celebs doing crazy things
with people other than their spouses and partners! The Full
Moon in Leo is sure to bring out the Leos – J
Lo, Madonna, Whitney
Houston, Halle Berry to
name just a few Leos who have been way too quiet lately. Both
J Lo and Madonna are married to Virgos, and with so much planetary
play in the romance zones of Virgos throughout the month of
January, you can be sure that love and romance and fighting
comes up between the Leos and Virgos.
A New Moon in Capricorn on the 10th will be interesting,
as it around the same time that Saturn reaches the culmination
of its yearly cycle (January 13 - a date to remember) Capricorn
unions will be under intense scrutiny and don’t be surprised
if more than one solid partnership goes bust involving one
of more Caps. Jude Law & Sienna
Miller are both goats in love, as are Kate
Bosworth and Orlando Bloom.
These are very serious and intense relationships, and they
can often blow up over little things. Jude Law’s previous
partner Sadie Frost is a Gemini – but she is best friends
with goat Kate Moss, so somewhere
in her chart, she has a prominent earth affinity (possibly
Capricorn rising – she’s tough enough for sure!) And while
there is a lot of love between the goat couples, January is
sure to be an especially intense month with Saturn the planet
of lessons stamping it’s imprint on all earth and water signs.
Chiron, the outer asteroid of healing in Capricorn all month
long is another reason why those involved in going nowhere
or unhappy relationships will do their very best to escape.
Denzel Washington, Mel
Gibson are very married people with heaps of
kids to boot, but in 2005, their careers will take them away
from their families and there could be some sort of scandal
involving them and their marriages as they seek happiness
and a more spiritual connection in their lives.
Newly married Nicolas Cage will
continue to thrive in his marriage to his young bride and
baby news could be in the tabloids, as Saturn’s presence makes
him determined to make this one work. Cancers are also affected
by planetary play this month - don’t be surprised if a new
romance for Pamela Anderson and
news on the Nick Lachey (Scorpio)
Jessica Simpson union (Cancer) leaks
out. If there was ever a time for this couple to make it or
break it, it’s January.
Getting back to the Virgos however, January is a very interesting
month for them, as planetary activity in their 5th house (some
good/some not so good) could mean that Michael
Jackson finally faces the music – either clearing
his name once and for all or not. Saturn and Chiron together
make it a certainty that January will not be so easy for other
Virgos – Hugh Grant has been in
the press a lot lately – with his bad boy behavior in overdrive.
Let’s see what stunt he pulls in January. Cameron
Diaz and beau Aquarius Justin Timberlake
have been quiet of late – January is sure to put them back
in the headlines. The same for Virgo Ryan Phillippe
and Aries wife Reese Witherspoon,
who have been in the headlines lately. Virgo Nicole
Ritchie may announce plans to marry in January
(around the New Moon). Let’s hope she has more luck than her
buddies – Aquarius Paris and Libra
Nicky Hilton!!
Towards the end of the month, the Sun moves into Aquarius
– the intellectual sign of the zodiac – Geena
Davis (Jan 21) is highly intelligent, as is
Oprah (Jan 29) & Vanessa
Redgrave (Jan 30). A shift in focus to airy
Aquarius means that the planets lighten up and aren’t so caught
up in money and material matters. Stay tuned for February’s
CelebScope…
Cosmic Well Wishes for a happy and very successful 2005…remember
it adds up to 7!!
