After the hectic hustle and bustle of the planets at play
in Aries for most of the month of April, May brings with it
a chance to luxuriate and mellow out, with Venus in Taurus
through May 11 a sure sign that lurve and commitment are in
the air (as well as a healthy appetite). But be warned, mid
month the planets skip into Gemini – and the fun and games
begin!
Celebs will put on weight in May – as will everyone else.

Notice how many singers are born under the sign of Taurus?
Cher, Barbra, Enrique,
Kelly just to name a few. Why you ask? Because
Taureans are ruled by their throat – and usually have beautiful
speaking voices (think George Clooney).
May madness begins early, with a New Moon in Taurus May 8
bringing with it plenty of opportunity for growth and fertility
when it comes to new ideas. It’s also a time when celebrities
will announce that they’ve got a bun in the oven.
Pregnancy rumours will abound for more than one Taurus celebrity
– my guess is Carmen Electra and Gemini hubby
Dave Navarro will announce that they are expecting.
Or Penelope Cruz and yummy Scorpio fiancée Matthew
McConaughey will tie the knot sooner than the reported
date of mid July due to Penelope being in the family way.
Taureans fight the battle of the bulge on a regular basis
and this year is no exception. Janet Jackson has
stacked on the kilos, as has Ryan O’Neal and
Pierce Brosnan. Taurus love nothing more than
to eat, drink and be merry – and this is something many other
celebrities with Taurus prominent in their charts will find
themselves doing this month. You can usually tell who is a
Taurus or has Taurus rising by their bull like necks – as
this is the area they carry their excess weight (my guess
is that Mariah Carey has Taurus rising).
Once Mercury, the planet of chitchat and rational thinking
moves out of the crazy and erratic sign of Aries and into
Taurus May 13, talk turns to money. Taurus is the 2nd sign
of the zodiac and rules money and self-esteem. Taurean women
are usually very fashion conscious but understated at the
same time (Cate Blanchett & Natasha
Richardson being prime examples). So we are sure to
hear some sort of scandal involving a Taurus celebrity and
money – won or lost at a poker game, won or lost in a divorce
settlement or spent on some other illegal or scandalous activity.
Or a Taurus celeb will donate a large amount of money to a
charity but make sure that he or she gets their mile of publicity
out of it as well.
Once Venus moves out of Taurus mid-May and into the outrageously
flirtatious sign of Gemini, things will get interesting. Watch
for people to get caught out canoodling with people other
than their spouse or significant other, particularly around
the indiscreet Full Moon May 24 in Sagittarius. Gemini and
Sagittarius are one of those matches that capture everyone’s
imagination – think Gemini Paul Bettany &
Sag Jennifer Connelly and twin Angelina
Jolie and new amore Sag Brad Pitt, freshly
separated from Aquarian wife Jennifer Aniston.
If there was ever going to be a month when we really find
out what’s going on with these two it will be May. Venus,
the planet of public canoodling and coquettish behaviour moves
into Gemini May 11 – that’s when the fun and games begin.
The Sun follows Venus into Gemini May 21st and then Mercury
the communicator skips in Gemini late in the month (May 29).
But, the Full Moon in indiscreet and foot in mouth Sagittarius
May 24 will be the real cosmic kicker.
Britney Spears is a Sagittarius and as we know
from reading her website, she does tend to give us far too
much information at times doesn’t she? Married to an Aries
(on the cusp of Pisces – same date as Matthew Broderick
and can’t you see the similarities?), Britney rules
the Federline roost for sure. She might rethink
her marriage during the tail end of May – and don’t be surprised
if rumours of a split abound yet again.
Another difficult union will be between Sag Jake Gyllenhaal
and Bull birthday girl Kirsten Dunst –
who have an on and off relationship anyway. Things will come
to a head for them in May and later on in June, and it’s definitely
make or break time for this couple once and for all. Don’t
be surprised if a quickie Las Vegas marriage is in their future
followed by a just as quick divorce.
Anna Nicole Smith is a Sag who is on the verge
of something everyday – a drug overdose, an emotional breakdown
or something else that will captivate us for a few days. If
she was going to do anything, it will be around this Full
Moon in her sign on the 24th.
Let’s talk about Neptune retrograding in Aquarius May 18
– October 26. Neptune rules Pisces and is the planet most
associated with fantasy and looking at life through rose coloured
glasses. However while in Aquarius, people are far more realistic
about romance and the pitfalls of love at first sight type
relationships (like Ms Spears and her dancer
hubby and J Lo and her love affairs).
Marriages and romances we feel are fabulous and pure romance
could slowly but surely unravel while Neptune is out of phase
– particularly romances between Aquarians and Pisces.

Daniel Johns could really have to work much
harder at their marriage than either of them ever thought
they would do while Neptune is out of phase (a long time too).
Pisces Drew Barrymore and her Gemini lover
Strokes front man Fabrizio Moretti may find
they hit a long and difficult rough patch while Neptune is
out of phase, particularly early June, with Mars, the planet
of passion transiting Pisces and making them feel pressured
to be all that they can be.
The couple to watch this month is definitely Angelina
and Brad – one of the best matches in
the zodiac (as were Jen and Brad…go figure). Penelope
and Matthew are another couple who are a great
match on paper, but let’s see if they do make it to the altar
this year. And money is sure to come up with one or more Hollywood
couples as a source of some sort of drama…maybe from the Beckham
camp? David and Aries wife Posh have
been far too quiet lately haven’t they?
